Who we are

ballons.ai is a product of SAITS GmbH, Baarerstrasse 79, 6300 Zug, Switzerland ("we"), which is the controller of your personal data. We produce videos for social media and marketing for clients. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@ballons.ai.

What we collect

  • Inquiry details you send us: name, email, company, website and your message.
  • Account details when you sign up: name, email and sign-in details.
  • Project material you upload or link: briefs, brand assets, feedback and files.
  • Your answer on the brief whether the material may show people's faces or voices (and any later change).
  • If you connect social accounts: the account names and the posts we schedule or publish for you.
  • If you turn on notifications: the browser or app device that receives them.
  • Basic technical data needed to run the site securely, such as server logs.

Why we use it

  • To answer inquiries and set up projects.
  • To deliver your project: scripting, production, review and delivery.
  • To run, secure and improve the client portal.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations.

Where your data is stored

Our servers are hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in data centres in the European Union. Your account, orders, files and videos are stored there.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf and only for the purposes below.

  • Files you upload and the videos we deliver (watermarked previews and final files) are stored on our servers in the EU and are only accessible to you and to us through the client portal.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay by card, Stripe receives your payment details directly. We never see or store your card number; we only keep a record of the payment (amount, date and status).
  • Upload-Post (TONVI TECH S.L., Spain) posts videos to your social accounts, only if you connect them. Its servers and databases are in Germany and media is stored in the EU. The platforms you post to (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube) process the published posts under their own privacy policies.
  • fal.ai (USA) runs the AI video tools we use to make clips. It processes data in the USA; there is no EU option. We only send it images or recordings of people for an order if you agreed to it on the brief (faces and voices).
  • Anthropic (USA) provides Claude, which helps us draft concepts and storyboards from your brief. It processes the brief text in the USA.
  • Notifications are delivered through the push service of your browser or phone (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla) and, for our app, through Expo (USA).
  • Email delivery: [provider to be completed by the operator].

Transfers outside the EU and Switzerland

Stripe, fal.ai, Anthropic and Expo may process data in the USA. Where this happens, the transfer relies on the safeguards these providers offer, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

AI tools and labels

We use AI tools to draft ideas, storyboards and video clips. Our team reviews everything before you see it, and content made with AI is labelled "AI-generated" in the portal.

We only process images or recordings of people with AI tools if you confirmed on the brief that you have the consent of the people shown. You can change this answer per order in your privacy settings.

Retention

We keep your account and orders until you delete your account. Data exports can be downloaded for 7 days and are then deleted.

When you delete your account, we delete your data and files. We keep payment records (amount, date and Stripe reference, without your name or address) for the period accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Contact us at the address above.

  • Signed in, you can download all your data (JSON) and delete your account yourself under Settings › Privacy.
  • You can withdraw a consent at any time; this applies from then on.
  • You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
